The key feature of this new holiday village is the sub-tropical swimming pool facility, which is the focal point of the park. Constructing the cavernous bowl started with 12m high exposed concrete buttress columns which supported the timber roof. All the main facility structures were cast in waterproof concrete, such as the main wave pool, toddler pool, lazy river ride and the wild water rapids. These all included complex curved elements which the team developed and delivered using their vast experience. Concurrently, we constructed a hotel on the other side of the park consisting of a more traditional build consisting of in-situ columns and post-tensioned slabs.
